Fresh Recollection is a bespoke fine jewellery house rooted in a 40-year family legacy of artisan craftsmanship. We design pieces made entirely for the person who will wear them — for the moments that deserve to be worn forever.
Mission
Our story begins four decades ago, when our founder's father set out to build something lasting — a jewellery practice grounded in precision, in the knowledge of materials, and in a genuine care for the person on the other side of the counter. That legacy of craftsmanship is still part of how we work today.
Fresh Recollection was founded by Janet Tam, who came to jewellery by way of architecture. After nearly twenty years in that profession, she brought its disciplines into a new medium: the structured design process, the rigorous attention to client needs, the understanding that form and function are inseparable. Jewellery demanded exactly the same precision — and gave something back that architecture rarely could. Pieces small enough to be carried close. Personal enough to hold a memory.
Jewellery had always been part of our founder's upbringing, woven into how she understood beauty and meaning from the beginning. What changed was the opportunity to shape it — to sit with a client, understand their life, and design something that could only have been made for them.
Fresh Recollection came from the meeting of those two worlds. A second-generation heritage of craft. A design practice built on listening before drawing a line. The result is a house that takes commissions seriously — where every bespoke piece begins not with a sketch, but with a conversation.
